I went on exchanges on Wednesday. This was my first experience with a companion who was not "my" companion. I went to an area called Syracuse, and it was a pretty cool experience. The sisters there are in a walking area, which means if they don't have bikes, they get to walk. They do have bikes, so I got to ride a bike for that day. We go on exchanges after lunch on Wednesdays and then switch back around the same time on Thursdays. We are going on exchanges tomorrow too, so that will be fun.
On Saturday I got to go to General Conference. I love the chance we have to listen to the modern prophets and apostles. Sister Davis went down to conference with the departing missionaries (those leaving before the October General Conference), so I had to find a split for the day. I ended up going down there with Becky, a single sister in her 30s. She and I met up with one of my investigators and then watched the morning session with him. After that I went to eat at The Garden, on the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. I had never been there before, but it was very yummy. :)
I also randomly ran into one of my friends from freshman year. Her name is Kat and she just got home from her mission. It was a pleasant surprise to see her. I watched the Saturday Afternoon session in the Legacy Theater with Becky as well. After that we met up with Sister Davis and went home.
On Sunday we watched General Conference in our house. I really do love General Conference. We get to learn so much and feel the Spirit so strongly. We are lucky that in our modern world, we can watch, read, and listen to these talks within seconds, hours, and days of when they occur. I can't wait until the Ensign comes out so I can learn even more from the messages given in General Conference.
I am sorry this email is so short. We went to the temple this morning and then we got busy doing other things. I love you and I am so glad for the support you give me. This church is true and President Monson really is the prophet today.
